Unlike traditional dental molds that require patients to bite down on a tray full of putty, the iTero scanner uses a small wand to capture images of the patient’s teeth. This technology is much more comfortable for patients and provides a more accurate representation of their teeth.
The 3D digital mold created by the iTero scanner is what we use to create a patient’s Invisalign treatment plan and their aligners. We can also use this imaging to monitor a patient’s progress at their checkups. The Outcome Simulator is another essential tool that uses the 3D images to show patients what their smile could look like after their Invisalign treatment.
